Project Objectives

When BMA received approval to develop its Cavill Ridge mine project it appointed Bechtel as the Engineering Construction Project Manager for the project. BMA required the supply and manufacture of steel water and waste water treatment plants that were high capacity with small footprints to reduce the environmental impact. Maxcon Industries was awarded the contract to procure, fabricate, prepare, paint and package the components of the treatment plants for site installation.

Scope of Works

The project was successfully delivered on specification without delay and there were no budget overruns. The plants were fabricated inside a covered workshop which ensured adherence to strict quality and timeline expectations by reducing steel exposure to weather. Once completed, the entire plants were moved into the onsite Sandblasting facilities, where they were prepared with protective coatings which were also applied on site.

Special Considerations

The client had extremely high expectations of project Quality Assurance documentation, reporting and accountability, which thanks to strenuous QA standards within Maxcon Industries, we were more than capable of providing.

Due to Maxcon Industries' state of the art painting and sandblasting facilities, handling time and costs were extensively reduced, thus providing a substantial saving to the client.

Two Package Plants were transported and delivered in a convoy of trucks and re-assembled on-site. Each component was assembled perfectly; a direct result of the pre-assembly test carried out by Maxcon Industries in the workshop prior to delivery.
